Mezza Italiana is the story of Zoe, an Italian /Australian woman growing up in 1970/1980’s Brisbane, with her loud, gregarious, and often times (for her) embarrassing Italian family. This is a story of love, passion, family, food, travel and La dolce Vita.

A truly delicious book that will have many wanting to “live the good life”. Peppered throughout with delectable recipes, bite size portions of sweet and sometimes sad family moments and just the right amount of love, Mezza Italiana is a true feast for the senses. Mezza will have many people wishing for travel and hoping to capture a little of the spice of life Zoe Boccabella has heaped out in giant portions with her story.

This book is such a great story it flows beautifully, a really rich decadent book about good food, wine and gorgeous places, This isn’t a story that will have you on the edge of your seat but will definitely having you wishing for travel and wishing that part of your heritage was Italian too.

What more can I say really ? This is a truly beautiful story filled with interesting quirky characters, set partly in my hometown of Brisbane and partly in the region of the world I love the best. This is a charming witty book written by a great new Australian writer.

Be warned it may make you feel an intense need for chocolate, travel, wine and food, or all the above 😉

If all that doesn’t sound enticing enough, Frances Mayes author of Under the Tuscan Sun says “A charming and thoughtful writer with a vibrant story to tell. This is a memoir with a difference”
